# What Is ChainRender?

> ⚠️ **Alpha · Testnet only.** ChainRender is in active alpha, deployed on the **Sepolia**, **Robinhood**, and **Circle Arc** testnets — **not** Ethereum mainnet. Contracts, addresses, and APIs may change without notice. Do not use it with real funds or production assets yet.

A one-page orientation for newcomers — the elevator pitch, the shape of the system, and where to go next.

## In one sentence

**ChainRender is a framework for building application interfaces that live entirely on-chain — content-addressed,
trust-graded, and verifiable by anyone.**

## In one paragraph

You compose a UI from a safe, closed vocabulary. It compiles to a content-addressed artifact whose hash *is* its
permanent identity. A trust grade (A/B/C) tells users exactly how trustless it is before they interact. It renders
from a single free `eth_call` — no server, no hosting, no build pipeline — and anyone can reproduce that render
byte-for-byte against any RPC. Live data comes from on-chain resolvers; presentation is themeable at render time
without redeploying; and everything is safe by construction, because the enforcer refuses unsafe apps rather than
warning about them.

## The shape of the system

- **Compose** from the vocabulary → **Compile** to a hash → **Register** bytes once → **Render** free forever.
- **Resolvers** supply live on-chain data. **Themes** style it at render time. **The grade** discloses its trust.
- **Names** (subnames under `chainrender.eth`) and **versions** (timelocked, append-only) let apps be found and
  safely updated.

## Who uses it

- **App & protocol teams** who want a canonical, un-spoofable, permanent frontend.
- **Developers** who want their interface to inherit their contract's trust properties.
- **Users & wallets** who want to *verify* an app, not just trust it.
